Geneva, the economic and
fiscal centre
The advantages of the city of Geneva vary widely, beginning with its privileged geographical position at the centre of Western Europe. The metropolises of London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Milan can be reached by air in less than two hours.
The fact that a competitive economy is all the more important for Switzerland as half of its profits are generated by export has always been taken into account. Tax legislation and relief measures, e.g. for facilitating the reception, development and integration of foreign companies, are regulated at cantonal level.
The government of Geneva is also setting a good example in this already liberal environment. Representatives of authorities receive you personally and advise you in all relevant areas, for example work and residence permits, tax concessions, building regulations etc.
